Biography
Amy Thompson, M.S. & Ed., Ph.D CHES, FESG is a Professor at the University of Toledo where she also serves as the co-director and founder for the Center for Health and Successful Living. Her Ph. D is in health education with an emphasis in public health. She received her M.S.& Ed. in public health from the University of Toledo and a B.S. in community health from Central Michigan University. She is also a certified health education specialist. Her research has been published in such journals as the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, the Journal of School Health, and American Journal of Health Education. Dr. Thompson’s research interests include advocacy, firearm injury prevention, and breast cancer prevention. She is the current national SOPHE advocacy chair and is the former national president of Eta Sigma Gamma.
